Okay, I don’t think I’ve been on social media as much as I have the last two days with group texts, Facebook, etc. I feel like a member of iGen. But I guess that’s to be expected from an extrovert traveling alone.
Papa Francesco (Pope Francis) was coming to my favorite church at 3 pm today, Santa Maria de Trastevere, but alas, I was on the train then. In Rome the sun came out as I left, but as I got near Montepulciano it became cold and rainy— so different from when I was last here in the summer when it was an oven. Okay, not much text because I need to study, but it was so fun reuniting with Giovanna and Maria at the Politian apartments. I’m staying in the Black Tea apartment, which is on the top floor with great views. Since it was Sunday night and rainy, the town was very empty, but I did find our little market Sforzo open so I could buy a few items. I walked down the Corso to Cafe Poliziano and had a spritz. Leonardo was there, and he said Vincenzo and Daniele would be there in the morning. I walked up to the parapet, and you’ll see the view is much different from when I was last here. Okay, devo studiare. I’m speaking and understanding okay, but I’m making so many mistakes. Oh well. I’m here to learn. I must embrace my flaws.
