Stuck in Chicago

If you wanted to read about our first day in Italy, you won’t find it here. We just landed in Chicago six hours late and won’t get to Rome until 10:30 Wednesday. Caroline will be solo, but our hosts Domenico and Veronica will take care of her. She’s also going to our dinner party, which is continuing to a local restaurant. We are sad to miss it, but we know Caroline will make the most of it.

Update: There were terrible storms and tornadoes in the Chicago area. The great news is we got our bags off the plane, unlike many others. We had to stay at a hotel way out because all the hotels were full. We made a friend, Rachel, who is staying here with us. Sigh. Here’s my only photo. Caroline is fine. She says its a beautiful day in Rome. We fly out this evening and will arrive in Rome tomorrow morning, a day late.
