Oggi andiamo a Assisi–updated!

I’m starting to get sad that our time in Montepulciano is coming to a close, but I’m trying to enjoy every moment. I’m just so happy here. Here is one of my favorite houses here:

Also, here is the iconic photo of Tuscany that you see on all the calendars. It’s a little chapel on the road between Pienza and San Quirico d’al Orcia.

We had a good trip to Assisi today. One of the highlights was stopping by to see Nila at Bibenda. Caroline, she told me over and over again to tell you hi and asked all about you. She is a lovely person. We also went to the Basilica di San Francesco and San Chiara. Richard and Jack had never been to Assisi. They thought the town was too fake and full of tacky souvenirs, not enough authenticity. That’s why I like to visit but wouldn’t want to stay there, even though Nila says they have a language school. Tomorrow is our last day in Montepulciano, and we are staying put to enjoy our favorite hill town.

Oh Sara–gorgeous pictures! I can see why you are sad to leave………..I think you are becoming Italian!

Yes, yes, yes! And Richard, too. He wants to come back for longer next summer and study with me at Il Sasso. He’s so good at languages, he will surpass me in no time. But I don’t care. I like learning.
