Arrivederci Roma

Our last night in Rome. We had a nice dinner outside at the Ristorante di Montevecchio, right across the street from our apartment. There was a front door right next to our table that went to an apartment building, and people coming to and fro had to walk past the restaurant tables to get to their front door.
Afterwards, we took our last walk. This time we avoided the crowds and crossed over the Ponte San Angelo with the fortress/Hadrian’s tomb all lit up and then followed the lights down the long avenue to St. Peter’s. Everything is so close here. It took about fifteen minutes, the same amount of time it takes us to walk to the capitol from our house in Austin. It was a lovely evening. Stay tuned for tomorrow’s adventure: driving out of Rome!
