Today we drove to Sirolo, about two hours from Ravenna along the Adriatic coast. Driving in Italy is easy. The autostrade toll roads are excellent, and the signage for every city or town is frequent and clear. It’s easy once you get used to the traffic circles, which keep you from having to stop at a lot of lights. What’s strange is how quickly the kilometers clip by, and seeing 110 -120 on the speedometer.
Sirolo is a lovely little hilltop town overlooking the coastline near Monte Conero. We spent a day at the beach in Numana. The water was so beautiful and in layers: milky, sea glass- green at the shoreline ending in a deep cerulean blue on the horizon. Here are some photos from our beach day and later from the town piazza overlook.
